Let's Do the Time Warp Again!

Fri Apr 17, 2009, 9:55 PM
  • Mood: Triumph
  • Listening to: Your Soldier by Claire Codner
  • Reading: Daniel X
  • Watching: A crowd of people watching me
  • Playing: The creepy main character for the Time Warp
  • Eating: Friendly's food
  • Drinking: Root Beer
I am awake when I should be sleeping. Tonight was opening night for Running to Places' Spring Showcase 2009. I am the main character in the number called "The Time Warp" which is originally from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." I love playing the part, and I'm psyched for the next two/ remaining two performances. I get to be the creepiest person you'll probably ever see, but people enjoy it. Also, since that's not the ONLY thing I do in the show, people know I'm not a real creeper. For those who don't know what a Showcase is, basically it's a conglomeration of different pieces from various musicals. I get to be shell-shockingly creepy, and also pretty normal and dapper in a single show. It's pretty cool to be a part of.

I just wanted to say that you have an amazing gallery and an incredible tallent. It has a sense of spirituality that begs to be heard. Which is a beautiful thing, I must say. :) Your work almost makes me want to throw my own journal out, lol. Keep it up, my friend!

I'm really glad you appreciate my work, but never throw away anything you've done! Just build on it! :)

I do that now! I never did before. It went straight in the trash bin if I didn't like it, just a year or two ago.

Yeah, I've thrown away some extremely juvenile stuff. However, you should always be on the lookout for an old metaphor or line that's well-written and can be expanded on.

That's very true. I had several journals I threw out. They were, as you've said, rather juvenile, but also about moving on from my past. I've had several phrases I've kept and expanded on, or keep mixing up. It's amazing what a few words can inspire.
